Department Reorganization Update

Our department reorganization project is up and running, with a leadership team (see member list below) to direct the design and implementation process. This team will be focused on the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department, as well as on ensuring that the jobs we are asking our people to do are as health-promoting as possible. The team will systematically share information and solicit input. This newsletter is one venue for such communication.

Now through November is the first phase of the reorganization. A group of 20 faculty and staff, which includes the core leadership team, will be working to design and implement new structures for the administrative enterprise and the graduate program administration. Together they are participating in a program called Leading Change, designed specifically to support our department’s reorganization efforts. This program draws on leadership development research to support them and their staff through the reorganization process.
