Department Spotlight: Sabrina Miner

Sabrina Miner, research administrator, in her element with printmaking, casting, and other art.

What does Sabrina like best about her job and working for the department? Getting to learn about all the different research projects happening.

Meet Sabrina Miner, our newest research administrator, who recently joined us from Gateway Technical College, part of the Wisconsin Technical College System, after spending more than five years in pre- and post-award grant management and continuing education through the National Grants Management Association. Before her most recent experience, Sabrina was a research appointment assistant at Northwestern University in the McCormick School of Engineering, where she processed research appointments and accompanying visa requests. She holds a bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin–Parkside. Once fully acclimated to our department, Sabrina will be assisting our department faculty in preparing and managing sponsored awards. Outside of research, Sabrina creates art. “I have a bachelor’s in art with a 3D concentration, where I created bronze cast sculptures,” Sabrina explains. “Although casting isn’t easily achieved at home, I still draw, paint, and do printmaking while staying active in regional art scenes.” When she’s not in her studio or exploring a museum, Sabrina enjoys hiking with her dog Frida, who is named after the artist Frida Kahlo.
