RESEARCH DESCRIPTION

Research in the Bertram group is designed to provide laboratory and observation based constraints for chemical processes occurring in the atmosphere. Of specific interest are reactions occurring at atmospheric interfaces as well as the development of novel tools to study trace gases and aerosol particles at high spatial and temporal scales.

Primary areas of research – Physical and analytical chemistry
Interdisciplinary interests – Atmospheric and environmental sciences

OUTREACH

As part of the Center for Aerosol Impacts on Climate and the Environment, a Phase II Center for Chemical Innovation, the Bertram group participates in an array of outreach activities at elementary and high schools. These activities include the on site development of chemical sensors for air quality and climate designed to engage students with chemical sensing of their immediate environment.
