As a graduate of UW-Madison, I love working for the university and being back on campus as a member of staff.
- Meet Andrew Hinz. As our Undergraduate Program Manager, Andrew works on a wide range of tasks to support the undergraduate chemistry degree program, such as the schedule of classes, scholarships and awards, general chemistry TA assignments, preparing the undergrad program budget summaries, and administrative support for undergraduate research. Andrew holds a Bachelor’s degree in secondary social studies and economics from UW-Madison and he’s pursuing a Master’s in economics from Mizzou. When asked what he enjoys most about his job, Andrew says, “The people! I’ve really enjoyed getting to know my coworkers and collaborating with them for various projects and events.” He says he appreciates the variety of tasks, “Every week is different!” Life before the Department of Chemistry included working six years at Epic as a project manager and trainer and teaching high school social studies. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys running, hiking, racquet sports, audiobooks, traveling abroad, and visiting friends and family who live all over the U.S.
