Everyone here is friendly, dedicated, and great at what they do.
Meet Jeff Bartz! Jeff joined the department in June 2023 as a scientist with the Goldsmith group. Before joining the department, Jeff was a professor at Kalamazoo College in Michigan. Currently, three of his Kalamazoo research students are in the department working on Ph.D.s. And Jeff is no stranger to the department since he earned his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from UW-Madison under Fleming Crim. Now, on the other side of his student experience he says his job is to help everyone in my group with their science. Jeff explains, “In order to make sure people ask for help, my motto is ‘No job is too dumb.’” Outside of work, he follows Badger sports, goes fishing, and explores Madison. But then he adds, “Who am I kidding? We have a four-month-old puppy, named Milton, who takes a lot of time and attention.”
