I love that I landed in a department with brilliant faculty and students who are passionate about science and working to change the world.
Meet Emily Schjoth, one of the newer additions to the department, who is managing chemistry’s program and project funds (especially the 136 shops), and reporting needs. “I’ll be chemistry’s communication conduit with L&S,” Emily says, “working closely with the financial specialists to get faculty and students the supplies and people they need.” Emily holds a bachelor’s degree from UW–Madison in economics and biology and another bachelor’s degree from UW–Whitewater in accounting. She is also a CPA. Having joined the department just two short months ago, Emily enjoys managing money and numbers and looks forward to meeting more faculty and staff. Before UW, she worked in both construction and banking as an accountant. Beyond work, she enjoys walks with her husband (Brad) and their two dogs (Remy and Ricky Martin). “I can also be found watching Blackhawks hockey, UW Volleyball, or the Tour de France,” she says. Her husband and Emily love to travel, and they typically do one domestic and one international trip each year.
