Every day is different and I’m lucky to work with such a talented group of people.
Meet Kimberly Hazen, the department’s marketing and communications manager for the last two years. She is tasked with improving our department’s visibility and prestige by sharing stories of our impact, achievements, reputation, and standing as a top-tier institution so that we can attract quality graduate students, grants, awards, support from campus, and industry connections and collaborations. Before UW, Kimberly was a writer for a regional business magazine, a freelance publisher and editor, the admissions and marketing director for Madison Country Day School, and regional director for the Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin. She holds a BA from UW-LaCrosse and an MA from Marquette University. Outside of work, she owns and manages several short- and long-term rental properties in Dane and Door Counties. She’s also writing a book, “Me, Mom, and the Men-on-Pause” about traveling the country in an RV with her octogenarian mother during the COVID-19 pandemic. She enjoys backpacking, Badger basketball (until this week), Door County sunsets, Italian opera, and a well-mixed Negroni.
